Quasar requires the following ports to be open for the Server and Agent to communicate:

  • TCP 55555
  • TCP 55557
  • TCP 55559
What are the most common false positives for Quasar?2020-05-21T01:55:26+12:00

There are several situations where New Zealand data triggers a false positive. This includes some back accounts from:

  • Kiwibank
  • HSBC

Both of these will show as a match for Diners Club International. FlyBuys numbers are automatically filtered out as they are a known false positive.

Is it possible to scan systems that aren’t supported? (For example, old versions of Windows)2020-08-10T21:44:57+12:00

Quasar licenses are typically valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.

The most common question we get is “How long does it take to scan [insert the thing you want to scan here]?”

The answer always is: it depends. It is possible to configure the scans to complete quickly, but this will affect the depth and breadth of the scan. Or you can configure a scan to go wide and deep resulting in the scan taking much longer. It will also depend on the amount of computing resources devoted to scanning. We typically recommend that you work with one of our Quasar analysts to understand how to breach scans into pieces to allow them to get a balance between depth and speed.
